Abductees Mothers Association - Sana a

Journalist Tawfiq Al-Mansouri's family, who has been abducted since June 9th, 2015, filed a report regarding his sever health deterioration due to medical negligence of Houthi armed group officers at Central Security Prison in Sana'a, which Tawfiq had been transferred to recently. Officers in the prison prevented Tawfiq from any type of medical care, family visits, and providing the urgently needed medications.

Tawfiq Al-Mansouri has been repeatedly subjected to forced disappearance at different detention centres, in which he was brutally tortured, physically and mentally, inhumanely mistreated, starved, and prevented from medical care leading to the suffering of different disease such as shortness of breath, asthma, rheumatic heart disease, diabetes, inflammation of prostate. Lately, he has started showing symptoms of kidney failure.

At Abductees' Mothers Association, we greatly condemn the violations Tawfiq Al-Mansouri is subjected to, which mainly include the life-threatening intentional medical negligence, and depriving him of his basic humanitarian rights, family visits, and providing the necessary medications.

We hold Houthi armed group responsible for the lives, safety, and freedom of Tawfiq and the other abducted journalists. We call upon the United Nations' Envoy to mount the necessary pressure in order to save Tawfiq Al-Mansouri, and to immediately release him and other abducted journalists unconditionally strengthening his peace-committed stands and abiding by the agreements of releasing all abductees in an attempt to end the suffering of ours and our abducted sons'.
