In sync with the advocacy campaign launched by Abductees’ Mothers Association entitled (Justice for Abductees), which comes at a time when the Yemeni parties are failing to implement the signed agreements and are excluding the issue of the kidnapped and detainees from the efforts made locally, regionally and internationally, in addition to the intransigence and refusal of the arresting authorities to release the detained civilians whose rights to freedom are guaranteed by law.
We, at Abductees’ Mothers Association, demand the unconditional release of "526" kidnapped and disappeared by the Houthi group, including four journalists who face the death penalty, in addition to “18” others kidnapped by the security services of the legitimate government, “118” disappeared and kidnapped by the Security Belt in Aden, and “7” others kidnapped by the Joint Forces on the West Coast.
We also demand an end to the impunity of the perpetrators of kidnapping, detention, disappearance and torture against civilians and to bring them to a fair trial as the continued kidnappings and arrests is a direct result of the lack of accountability and punishment of the perpetrators.
We call on the UN special envoy and the international community to intensify pressure for the unconditional release and redress of the kidnapped, detained and forcibly disappeared civilians.
