Abductees’ Mothers Association participates in the International Conference for Families of the Missing

The Abductees’ Mothers Association took part in the International Conference for Families of the Missing organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) office in Ma’rib Governorate. The three-day event was attended by the head of the ICRC office, Mr. Skimos, along with several families of the missing.

The Association was represented by Ms. Sabah Humaid, Director of its Ma’rib branch, who delivered a comprehensive presentation introducing the Association, its founding, and its mission, vision, and goals in defending the rights of abductees, the forcibly disappeared, and their families.

Ms. Humaid highlighted the Association’s major activities during 2025, including awareness and advocacy campaigns, as well as appeals to international bodies calling for the release of abductees and disclosure of the fate of the disappeared.

She also referred to the Association’s messages addressed to the UN Security Council, the Chairman of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, the European Union, and the UN Human Rights Council, as part of its advocacy campaign #SaveTheAbductees, which urges the activation of the abductees’ file and the unconditional release of all detainees held by all parties.

Additionally, the Association’s representative presented statistics on abductees and the forcibly disappeared across various Yemeni governorates, as well as the number of protest rallies and statements issued by the Association to demand the release of all abductees.

In conclusion, the Abductees’ Mothers Association reaffirmed its unconditional commitment to continue its humanitarian and advocacy efforts until all abductees and the forcibly disappeared regain their full freedom and rights.
