Abductees Mothers Association rally statement demanding saving dozens of abductees and forcibly disappeared in Aden

After the urgent report issued last week by the mothers of abductees, which warned of severe health deterioration of our detained sons held at Be’er Ahmed Prison, amidst the breakout of COVID-19, we, Abductees’ Mothers Association, rally here by the Local Council and Ministry of Human Rights in Crater to repeat our calls for the government to urgently intervene in order to save the abductees held at Be’er Ahmed Prison, as two abductees have been placed in isolation in Aden whereas the rest are given a few medications while being held at an unclean environment and are regularly provided with inefficient and inadequate meals.

As the suffering of dozens of abductees worsens, the forcibly disappeared face many more dangers in their unknown whereabouts while their families have no clue of their medical conditions despite the four consecutive waves of COVID-19 that led to the death of thousands around the world.

At Abductees’ Mothers Association, we hold Security Belt Forces, controlled by the Southern Transitional Council, fully responsible for the lives of our arbitrarily detained and forcibly disappeared sons, who are held at Be’er Ahmed Prison and different secret detention centres.

We call upon the United Nations and human rights organizations to step up the pressure in order to grant the arbitrarily detained and forcibly disappeared persons all their rights, mainly medical care and contacting people outside prisons, and to take the necessary actions to guarantee that such crimes will not go unpunished.
