Abductees Mothers Association urgent report calling to save abductees, Ibrahim Sajed and Amran Al-Amrani, held at Political Security Prison and Central Security Prison in Sana’a.

 At Abductees’ Mothers Association, we received an urgent report from the families of two abductees held by Houthi armed group. The abductees are Ibrahim Ahmed Salem Abdullah Sajed, 29, abducted on November 27th, 2015, currently held at Political Security Prison in Sana’a, and only allowed to see his family for a few minutes every month, and Amran Abdulhamid Abdu Ismail Al-Amrani, 36, abducted on July 8th, 2017, currently held at Central Security Prison in Sana’a, and is never allowed any visits. Both abductees are from Al-Hudayda governorate, and are suffering severe deterioration of physical and mental health. While Ibrahim Sajed suffers kidney and eye infections, Acute sinusitis, and unintentional passing of urine, Amran Al-Amrani has been suffering narrowing of the orifice of the mitral valve of the heart (Mitral valve stenosis), enlarged heart (Cardiomegaly), and astigmatism, as well as developing mental disorder.

Both abductees’ medical and psychological conditions have seriously deteriorated due to the many inhuman torture methods they were subjected to by Houthi armed group, including, as documented by the association;

Electrocution.

Hanging by the hands or legs.

Hitting on the chest and testicles using iron bars and cables.

Beating on the head to the point of losing conscious.

Burning.

Sleep deprivation.

  At Abductees’ Mothers Association, we demand urgently saving the lives of Ibrahim Sajed and Amran Al-Amrani, especially after the severe deterioration of their medical conditions, and hold Houthi armed group responsible for their lives and safety.

We call upon the UN’s Special Envoy for Yemen and the Office of High Commissioner for Human Rights to mount the needed pressure to unconditionally release both abductees immediately, in order to save their and other sick abductees’ lives.

We, also, upon all human rights organizations and activists to stand behind the case of Sajed and Al-Amrani, legally and humanitarianly, and to support their families until they are both released while there are still alive.
