Released abductees show appreciation for their freedom-fighting mothers and wives in conjunction with International Women Day.

Organized by Abductees’ Mothers Association in Marib, released abductees celebrated their mothers and wives and awarded them, in conjunction with the International Women’s Day, March 8th.

During the ceremony, the association representative in Marib, Sabah Hamid, made a speech, in which she clarified the objective of organizing such a ceremony, which is to present a great example of men appreciating women, and to encourage released men to appreciate their women, who carried a great burden during their abduction and detention. Additionally, the ceremony was held to attract the attention of the bodies responsible for women’s affair, as abductees’ women have not received the deserved care and attention.

Hana’a Ahmed, wife of the released abductee, Yousuf Edrees, spoke on behalf of mother. She talked about their suffering during the abduction of their relatives, and the role they had to carry out while the husband, son, and brother were in detention for years.

Mufadhal Al-Jadi, a released abductee, displayed various artistic paintings of several abductees, which were made by abductees and presented to their families while still in prison.
Mohammed Heba, gifted his wife a beautiful poem, celebrating the occasion.

The ceremony was covered by several local and international news channels, and attended by Mohammed Al-Bazeli, Marib governor’s office manager.
