Urgent Humanitarian Appeal from the Abductees’ Mothers Association and SAM Organization to the Negotiators in “Muscat” for the Immediate and Uncondetional Release of All Abductees, Chief Among Them “Mohamed Qahtan”

We, the “SAM” Organization for Rights and Liberties and the Abductees’ Mothers Association, issue this appeal with hope to all negotiators in the Sultanate of Oman, urging them to act with national and humanitarian responsibility and work diligently to resolve the issue of detainees and forcibly disappeared persons as a purely humanitarian matter, free from political calculations. We demand the postponement of any issues that might hinder the resolution of this matter and call for the revelation of the fate of the forcibly disappeared, especially politicians like Mohammed Qahtan and Mustafa Al-Mutawakkil, and all those hidden in all Yemeni prisons under all parties, in accordance with the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance, which states the right to know the truth about the fate of the forcibly disappeared.

In these critical moments, we urge you to place humanity above all considerations. The suffering of the detainees, abductees, and their families deserves to be a top priority. This issue is not just a political matter, but a humanitarian one that affects the lives and dignity of individuals.

Therefore, we call on you to defer any matters that may impede the resolution of this issue so that we can give these detainees and their families hope for a better future. Delaying these issues will enhance the chances of reaching peaceful and humanitarian solutions.

We appreciate any humanitarian efforts made by the mediators in the Sultanate of Oman and urge them to continue working to bring viewpoints closer and bridge the gap between the different parties. These efforts represent a glimmer of hope for the families of the detainees and abductees.

We call on all influential mediators in the detainee issue to exert more pressure on the conflicting parties to find a clear path to peace.

The eyes of the families of the detainees and abductees are gazing at Oman, filled with hope that this round of negotiations will be decisive and bring joy to every Yemeni household. We hope that your efforts will bring happiness to the hearts of these afflicted families.

We emphasize the necessity of acting with national and humanitarian responsibility in these crucial moments. We are confident that resolving the issue of detainees and abductees will be a significant step towards achieving peace and stability in Yemen.

We believe that you, as negotiators in the Sultanate of Oman, can make a real difference in the lives of thousands of Yemenis eagerly awaiting the return of their loved ones. Let us work together for a better future for Yemen and all its people.
