Abductees Mothers Association rally statement in Alhudayda demanding saving and releasing sick abductees

For six years, our abducted sons have been living facing unbearable suffering due to the horrible detention conditions and torture they are subjected to, which have led to severe deterioration in their physical and mental health.

Abductees’ Mothers Association in Alhudayda has monitored the cases of 92 abductees and forcibly disappeared persons from Alhudayda, 79 of whom are held by Houthi armed group while the other 13 are held by the Joint Forces at the West Coast. The official and secret detention centers, abductees held at, are all poorly equipped and lacking the basic human facilities.

At Abductees’ Mothers Association in Alhudayda, we condemn the abduction and brutal torture facing civilians, which has repeatedly led to the deterioration of their health. The effects of such violations and crimes have extended to hit abductees’ relatives, as the father of the abductee Ibrahim Ahmed Sajed had died due to a stroke after hearing the news of referring his son to court, especially after executing 9 abductees from Alhudayda by Houthi armed group.

We hold Houthi armed group and the Joint Forces at the West Coast fully responsible for the lives and safety of our abducted and forcibly sons. We demand the international community to mount the needed pressure and take serious actions in order to release all abductees and arbitrarily arrested and forcibly disappeared persons.

We, finally, stress on the importance of providing the necessary medical care inside prisons, improving the detention conditions, and urgently saving dozens of abductees, especially the sick ones. The abductees’ case and rights have completely been ignored by international human rights organizations.

Issued by Abductees’ Mothers Association, Alhudayda.
