Abductees Mothers Association Workshop on Empowering Women Peacebuilders in Leadership Roles

As part of the “She Builds Peace” campaign, Abductees’ Mothers Association, in partnership with the Global Network of Civil Society – ICAN, conducted a workshop on Saturday with stakeholders and local authorities titled “Engaging Women Peacebuilders in Leadership Roles” in Ma’rib Governorate.

With the attendance of representatives from political parties in the governorate and a number of local authority bodies, the workshop discussed the outcomes of the “Women Leadership Pathways” workshop, focusing on enhancing women’s role in leadership positions and activating laws that alleviate women’s suffering such as reducing working hours, ensuring equal opportunities in job types and wages, and raising awareness among women and the community about the necessity of training and qualification for decision-making positions in all fields.

Workshop participants presented several key outcomes, including:
• Media and political party awareness of the importance of promoting and involving women in leadership positions.
• Formation of a team comprising various parties, including political parties, local authorities, and companies, to follow up on the outcomes of training and qualifying women for leadership roles and to involve women in leadership positions.
