As part of the project “Protecting Civil and Women’s Spaces and Promoting Women’s Role in the Peace Process”, Abductees’ Mothers Association Funds 16 Training Sessions for Civil Society and Government Entities Working in Human Rights

A number of civil society organizations and government institutions have launched training sessions as part of four Training of Trainers (TOT) modules targeting human rights defenders, protection officers, and local community leaders. The initiative is funded by the Abductees’ Mothers Association in the city of Taiz.

The training program began with the module titled “Gender Transformative Approach,” delivered over two days by each of the following organizations: Resalty Foundation for Woman Development, Al-Resala Foundation for Education and Social Development, and Sharakah Foundation. The sessions were conducted for the organizations’ staff and volunteers.

This training aimed to strengthen awareness of the importance of collaboration between men and women across all segments of society to promote family and community stability. Participants learned to distinguish between gender and biological sex and were introduced to the gender transformative approach and its role in enhancing social cohesion. They also developed skills in analyzing social roles and applying gender transformative approach across different contexts.

Additional training modules will be implemented by other organizations and government bodies in the coming period. These sessions are part of the broader project “Protecting Civil and Women’s Spaces and Promoting Women’s Role in the Peace Process” supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) through the United Nations Peace Support Facility (UN PSF).
