The Abductees’ Mothers Association organized a group psychological support session for women recently released from detention in Ma’rib governorate. The session was part of the “Women for Freedom and Peace” initiative, which aims to empower female survivors of detention and help them regain psychological and social stability.
The session began with both individual and group listening exercises, during which each participant shared her personal story, the hardships she endured during her detention, and the challenges she continues to face after her release.
The psychological counselor responded to each story with care, emphasizing the positive aspects of the women’s experiences and how pain and suffering can be transformed into motivation for success and a stronger new beginning. The session also featured open group discussions, where participants exchanged perspectives and experiences on various psychological and social issues raised during the meeting.
At the conclusion of the session, participants expressed deep gratitude to the counselor for her emotional support and extended their thanks to the Abductees’ Mothers Association for its continued efforts, not only in advocating for their release but also in providing both psychological and material support after their freedom.
This session reflects the association’s ongoing commitment to supporting women survivors of detention, helping them reclaim their roles in society, and strengthening their psychological resilience after such traumatic experiences.
