We, at Abductees’ Mothers Association, as the holy month of Ramadan draws to a close, extend a sincere call and genuine appeal to all responsible individuals, leaders, and decision-makers across all parties in Yemen, to respond to the Association’s initiative, “Women of Freedom and Peace,” which advocates for the release of women detained in connection with the conflict.
In recent weeks, we have witnessed a positive response from the authorities in Ma’rib Governorate with the release of 13 detained women, which served as a positive and joyous gesture for all.
Therefore:
We urge you to seize this opportunity to demonstrate your commitment to the values of humanity and justice by taking similar steps and releasing the detained women, regardless of their affiliations or backgrounds.
The provisions of Abductees’ Mothers Association’s initiative are as follows:
• Immediate and unconditional release of all women detained in connection with the conflict from all detention facilities.
• Guarantee of their safety and secure return to their families.
• Permission for international humanitarian organizations to access women detained on criminal charges to provide necessary support, including healthcare and psychological care.
