Yemeni, Regional, and International Civil Society Organizations Submit Letter to the Human Rights Council

The Abductees’ Mothers Association, along with other Yemeni, regional, and international civil society organizations, has submitted a letter to the United Nations Human Rights Council ahead of its 60th session. The letter urges the Council to call on governments to take decisive action to protect victims of human rights violations and reinforce adherence to international law in Yemen.

The organizations also called on the Council to issue a joint statement that includes:

  • Condemning the widespread and serious human rights violations in Yemen.
  • Highlighting the worsening humanitarian crisis.
  • Acknowledging the need to hold accountable those responsible for international crimes, including war crimes.
