As part of the Abductees’ Mothers Association initiative, “Women for Freedom and Peace,” which advocates for the release of detained women, the association conducted an inspection visit to the women’s prison. During the visit, representatives met with the prison director to discuss the conditions of the inmates and their needs. The director highlighted that some prisoners require medical treatment and that several detainees are set to be released soon as they have completed their sentences.
The association organized a psychological support program during the visit, alongside legal awareness sessions for the inmates. This initiative, launched under “Women for Freedom and Peace,” aimed to educate detainees about their legal rights, defense mechanisms, and self-advocacy strategies. Additionally, psychological support was provided to help them cope with the pressures they face in prison.
The program also included various recreational activities, competitions, and art sessions. Moreover, the association provided lunch for both the inmates and prison staff.
The detainees expressed their gratitude for the initiative, emphasizing that it helped raise their awareness of their rights, improved their mental well-being, and rekindled their hope of regaining their freedom and reuniting with their families and normal lives.
