Abductees Mothers Association rally statement in Al-Hudaydah demanding the release of abductees, forcibly disappeared, and arbitrarily detained.

The suffering of our abducted sons in prisons has been going on for years, and the betrayal of their case continues with delays and promises that are slow to be implemented. With the extension of the detention period, their situation in prisons is getting worse.

According to our documentation at Abductees’ Mothers Association, there are still 31 abductees from Al-Hudaydah in the prisons of Houthi armed group, including 28 who suffer from diseases and the deterioration of their health condition. While 7 are still forcibly disappeared by the Houthi group, the association also documented the arrest of 10 citizens by the Joint Forces in the Western Coast, 3 of whom suffer from illness and the poor medical care provided in prisons that lack the most basic requirements.

We, at Abductees’ Mothers Association in Al-Hudaydah, from this rally, call for looking at these abductees with a humanitarian eye, especially the sick ones, and showing the forcibly disappeared and quickly releasing them all.

We also hold Houthi armed group and the Joint Forces in the Western Coast fully responsible for the safety and lives of our abducted sons who are forcibly disappeared.

We call on the international and regional community to strive hard and work to release all abducted, forcibly disappeared, and arbitrarily detained people and to cleanse the prisons. The case of our sons in prisons is a humanitarian issue that requires an urgent final solution.
