Abductees Mothers Association Statement Condemning the Dire Situation of Six Detainees in the Political Security Prison in Sana’a.

Abductees’ Mothers Association strongly condemns the dire situation of six of our abducted sons in the Political Security Prison in Hadda area, after they were transferred from the Security and Intelligence Reform Prison in early March this year, and they are still detained in the same prison until now.

According to reports from the families, the six abducted individuals are:

  • Fouad Noman Al-Awadi
  • Mohammed Abdu Al-Harazi
  • Muath Ahmed Noman
  • Shahabuddin Mansour Al-Saleemi
  • Mohammed Mutahar Al-Selwi
  • Ahmed Ahmed Al-Qataa’

These abductees have been subjected to torture and solitary confinement in the Political Security prison.

According to one of the survivors, Majid Al-Bazeli, who had been recently released, that he was detained in the Political Security prison with the aforementioned abductees, and they were transferred from the Security and Intelligence Reform Prison on March 8, during which they were beaten, tortured, kept in solitary confinement and prohibited from visits.

They were only given two meals a day, one of which was unfit for eating, in addition to small quantities of polluted water unfit for drinking, and they are allowed to use the toilet only three times a day for one minute each time.

At Abductees’ Mothers Association, we rally here, in front of the United Nations Human Rights Commission in Sana’a, to condemn the extremely poor situation that our six abducted sons are subjected to, and we hold the Houthi armed group fully responsible for their lives and safety.

We also demand that the office of the UN envoy, the United Nations and all human rights organizations intervene urgently to save the lives of our sons before it is too late.

We call on all journalists and human rights activists to pay attention to the humanitarian case of our sons and spread the word of their suffering to pressure and seriously seek their release without any conditions or restrictions.

Issued by Abductees’ Mothers Association, Sana’a.
