The Abductees’ Mothers Association calls for an end to the suffering of the abductees by demanding their immediate and unconditional release.

“We will not waver in defending the cause of our abducted, arbitrarily detained, and forcibly disappeared sons,” declared the Abductees’ Mothers, reassuring their commitment to advocate for the full and unconditional release of all kidnapped individuals.

During a protest held by the association in front of the Taiz Governorate Office this Sunday morning, May 19, 2024, the association condemned the prolonged detention of civilians in prisons and the ongoing suffering they endure. They also denounced the stagnation of the abducted individuals’ case, criticizing the use of their purely humanitarian issue as a political bargaining chip, and the exposure of detainees to various forms of abuse in both official and unofficial prisons without accountability.

The association emphasized that the first step towards comprehensive peace in Yemen begins with the release of the abductees. They held all parties fully responsible for the lives and safety of their abducted sons and called for an end to their prolonged suffering due to their unlawful detention.

The association decried the lack of respect for human rights and international laws, which has reached the point of failing to protect human rights activists and defenders, thereby exacerbating the concealment of truth and increasing violations. They urged the United Nations, its envoy, the High Commissioner for Human Rights, as well as local and international organizations, and all human rights and media coalitions to exert pressure to establish peace, with the first priority being the end of the suffering of the abductees and their families and securing their immediate release.
