Urgent Report of Abductees Mothers Association calling to save Ahmed Mohammed Al-Rudaini, after health deterioration at Central Security Prison in Sanaa.

 
Abductees’ Mothers Association received a report from the family of the abductee, Ahmed Mohammed Ahmed Al-Rudaini, 42, stating that the family lives in great fear after his health had severely deteriorated at the prisons of Houthi armed group.
 
Houthi armed group abducted Ahmed Mohammed Al-Rudaini on June 1st, 2016. He is currently held at Central Security Prison in Sana’a, after he was transferred into different prisons, including Political Security Prison in Alhudayda and Political Security Prison in Sana’a.
 
According to the abductee’s family, he suffered various diseases and medical issues such as; irritable bowel syndrome, kidney stones, and different issues in his prostate and abdomen, as well as rheumatism. Added to that is the medical negligence he is facing at prison.
 
In the report, the abductee’s family stated that Houthi armed group had referred Ahmed Al-Rudaini to the Specialized Criminal Court in Sana’a, where judge Mohammed Mufleh issued a released order on March 9th, 2020. Yet, almost two years have passed since then while he is still held at Central Security Prison in Sana’a.
 
At Abductees’ Mothers Association, we hold Houthi armed group fully responsible for Ahmed Al-Rudaini’s life and safety, and demand his immediate release.
 
We call upon the OHCHR to mount the needed pressure to release and save Al-Rudaini, and end urgently end his suffering.
