Abductees’ Mothers Association Protesting against the Continued Detention of Abductees in Solitary Confinement in the Political Security Prison in Sana’a.

Abductees’ Mothers Association carried out a protesting rally this morning, Monday, in front of the Office of the United Nations’ High Commissioner for Human Rights in Sana’a, in protest against the continued detention of six abductees in solitary confinement since the beginning of March, and their torture and ill-treatment by the Houthi armed group.

According to relatives, the abductees are still being held in the Political Security prison until now and are deprived of visitation rights and medical care. The six abductees are;

  • Fouad Noman Al-Awadi
  • Mohammad Abdu Al-Harazi
  • Muath Ahmed Noman
  • Shahabuddin Mansour Al-Saleemi
  • Mohammed Mutahar Al-Selwi
  • Ahmed Ahmed Al Qataa’

One of the survivors recently released from the same prison said that he was detained with the aforementioned six, and that they were beaten and tortured, and were given two meals a day – one of which could not be eaten due to poor cooking, in addition to having to drink contaminated water due to the lack of clean water, causing them severe health complications.

Abductees’ Mothers Association held Houthi armed group fully responsible for the abductees’ lives and safety, and called on the UN Envoy’s Office, the United Nations and all human rights organizations to intervene urgently and save their lives before it is too late.

The association called on all human rights defenders, journalists, activists and media platforms to pay attention to the humanitarian case of their sons in order to mount the necessary pressure and seriously work for their rescue and release.
