Abductees Mothers Association statement in conjunction with UN Special Envoy, Hans Grundberg, visit to Sanaa.

Abductees’ Mothers Association is following up the news of the meetings held by the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Yemen, Mr. Hans Grundberg, with the parties committed to the agreement for the exchange of prisoners, detainees, missing persons, arbitrarily detained and forcibly disappeared persons, and those under house arrest, which was signed in Stockholm and in accordance with several principles, mainly releasing all individuals held in relation to the events in Yemen, without any exceptions or conditions, for the purpose of resolving this fully and definitively.

With the visit of the Special Envoy to Sana’a, we call upon all Yemeni parties to take serious actions in order to implement Stockholm Agreement’s prisoners exchange in an attempt to achieve the long-awaited peace. We remind you that the negotiations you have been carrying out are watched by the mothers and wives of hundreds of abductees and detainees, closely following up and monitoring their details, and looking forward to fulfilling your promises.

We call upon the Special Envoy to mount the needed pressure to release all abductees, and pay more attention to the abductees and detainees who are sick, forcibly disappeared, and sentenced to death, as they live in a great danger of death.
