Statement of Abductees Mothers Association in Aden on the Occasion of the Coming of the Holy Month of Ramadan Demanding to Reveal 60 Enforcedly Disappeared Sons.

The years pass and the holy month of Ramadan comes with its eighth season, and 60 of our sons are still forcibly disappeared by the security forces in Aden governorate, their freedom has been taken away, and their families and children have been deprived of the joy of the holy month and their gathering at one table. They are even deprived of visitation and do not know anything about the fate of their disappeared relatives, without any regard for legal and constitutional rights and human values.

As mothers, we express our deep concern about the continued concealment of our sons without information about their health and lives, and we denounce this disregard and procrastination in revealing our sons and solving their humanitarian file, which requires urgent attention before it is too late.

We, in Abductees’ Mothers Association, appeal to the international community and all international and local human rights and media organizations to pressure and work to end this suffering. There are 60 forcibly disappeared people who are not known about, some of whom have been missing for more than eight years. These horrific violations against these civilians are contrary to the international standards of human rights and fundamental freedoms that the world agrees on.

We call for a comprehensive investigation into these violations, the disclosure of our forcibly disappeared sons, and their unconditional release, and to restrict these violations by applying the law, prosecuting those involved in such violations, bringing them to justice and compensating the forcibly disappeared and their families.

Ramadan is coming soon. Let these mothers live the joy of embracing their sons after the great loss that has exhausted their souls. Make their joy great joys with their presence.
